a 5-day Program in a Village

Intensive Bahasa Indonesia Learning and Cultural Activities

Living In

Students stay in a village where they will have language classes with a teacher from Alam Bahasa school and practice the language by getting along withthe local people. Activities include social and cultural activities (for example: traditional farming; making traditional snacks; playing traditional music instrument).

Village characteristics:

1. rich in culture and traditions
2. having craft making small industries
3. having enough relatively comfortable homestay to live in (safe,healthy, and guarantee enough privacy)
4. having friendly and "open" people (hospitality)
5. having beautiful landscape
6. possible for learning various things including Indonesian language

Program coverage:

1. 20 hours of bahasa Indonesia lessons with a teacher from Alam Bahasa
2. accommodation in a local family (one room for 2 students; Indonesian style bathroom in the house; breakfast; lunch; dinner)
3. accompaniment by the teacher during the activities and stay in the village
4. cultural activities
5. materials for the language course and other activities
6. transportation from Yogya to the village and vice versa
7. airport pick-up and drop-off
